RIFLEMAN COURSE

FUNDAMENTALS FOR THE INDIVIDUAL SHOOTER

Without these skills, you are useless to the team

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  1. It is recommended to take the classes in each course in the order listed

  2. Bring your gear to class or rent gear at the facility, rental is included in the price

  3. Classes must be scheduled in advance using the calendar below

  4. Rifleman level classes are worth 500 XP, per class, for Members

CLASSES

BASIC TRAINING

SKILLS:

Static shooting, accuracy vs. static and moving targets, known and unknown distances, point v. tracking, managing ammo/air, reloading, malfunction drills. Tactics are useless if you can't shoot.

COMBAT SHOOTING

SKILLS:

Assault stance, shooting drills (hammer, failure, NSR) firing line intro (gun up, scanning, clear), groucho, weapon orientation, shooting while moving (forward and backwards), cover v. concealment, good cover v. bad cover.

ADVANCED SHOOTING

SKILLS:

Weakside shooting (transitioning), snap shooting, short stocking, defilade fire (proper), PID.

CORNERS I

SKILLS:

Approaching, leaning, pieing, scanning (low to high), shooting, clearing, retreating from corners.

CORNERS II

SKILLS:

Popping, taking a picture, changing pop positions, concealing position, resting, preventing enemy rushes, maintaining a buffer, shadows.

MACHINE GUNNING

SKILLS:

Fire superiority concept, effects of suppression, cover for movement, area/movement denial, slowing enemy movements, ammo conservation, breaking the pattern, displacing.
