LEAGUE CITY PARKING LOT ISSUE
League City is still threatening to shut us down over our parking lot. They gave us an extension for painting all the container exteriors the same color (a cost of $20,000). We now have until "Summer" of 2022 to come up with nearly $200k for a: 17,000 sq. ft. CONCRETE parking lot, over 100 landscaping features, and a laundry list of other smaller items. For years we've agreed to build an ASPHALT lot along with the eventual shipping containers, but couldn't afford either at the time. When we submitted plans for the containers in 2020, the city decided, "asphalt was no longer an approved building material" and informed us that the lot would have to be concrete. This change came AFTER we'd already begun construction on the containers, bulldozed the old field, and were unable to reverse course. For those that don't know, a concrete lot is far more expensive than an asphalt lot.
As soon as this situation is resolved, we will put resources back into these events, but until then, every available penny is going towards this colossal waste of money. Please, for the love of god, come to the event and spend money! Our hope is that by doing half of the lot then, the city will see progress and give us more time to finish the rest.
If you're a League City resident, please join us at the ballot box at the next election and tell overly-intrusive government regulation to suck it. #dontCALIFORNIAmyTEXAS #voteLIBERTARIAN
